| Model numbers | Type | Cartridge | Handle |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7565 (pull-down), 5923 (pre-rinse spring pull-down), 7565SRS, 7565BL, 5923SRS, 5923BL | Kitchen, single handle pull-down with Reflex docking | 160657 kit (Duralast cartridge with the two-flat black nut). The spec sheet says 1255; the parts list specifies 160657, and the nuts differ. | Lever, right side only, set screw 155023 (3/32 inch) |
Align is the model where the 1255 versus 160657 confusion bites. Moen’s spec sheet names the cartridge family (1255 Duralast); the parts list names the service kit (160657), which has the two-flat nut this faucet needs. Order the 160657.
Before you start. Shut off the two small valves under the sink by turning them clockwise, then open the faucet to confirm the water has stopped. Plug the drain so small parts cannot fall in. You will need a screwdriver, an adjustable wrench or pliers, and for most handles a hex key (an Allen wrench, sold as an inexpensive set at any hardware store). If a shutoff valve will not turn or starts to drip, or anything is corroded and will not loosen with moderate force, stop and see when to call a plumber. New to this? Start here explains the parts and tools in plain language.

Taking it apart
- Find the set screw hole on the underside of the side mount handle.
- Loosen the set screw with a 3/32 inch hex key. Pull the handle off and remove the dome (160660).
- Unthread the two-flat retaining nut counterclockwise with pliers or a wrench.
- Pull the cartridge out by its stem.
