Delta Faucet Repair: Which Valve Do I Have?

Delta has used three different valve designs in its single handle faucets, plus stem units in its two handle faucets and four generations of shower cartridges. They are not interchangeable, and the wrong part is the most common reason a Delta repair fails. This page sorts out which one you have.

If you do not know the model, see how to identify your Delta cartridge without a model number or how to find your brand and model. Words you do not recognize are in the glossary.

The fastest tell on a sink faucet: if the model number on the box, under-sink tag, or Delta’s website ends in DST, it is a DIAMOND Seal cartridge. If there is a dome cap and a slotted ball under the handle, it is ball type. For showers, pull the handle and look at the color of the cartridge cap. White is the older Monitor series; grey is MultiChoice.
