Kohler Faucet Repair: Which Valve Do I Have?

Last updated

by Faucet Answers, an independent publication of TH4 Digital LLC

Kohler sells more than a dozen different faucet valves, and its parts sheet states that valves must be replaced with the same style because they are not interchangeable. Identifying the valve starts with the model number. On older faucets it is on a white tag wrapped around the cold supply line under the sink; on newer ones it is on the box, the install sheet, or Kohler’s parts lookup.

New to this? Start here explains the parts and tools in plain language. Not sure which cartridge you have? Identify it without a model number.

You may not need to buy anything

Kohler’s Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty covers faucets made after January 1, 1997 against leaks and drips for as long as the original purchaser owns the home, and the warranty text says Kohler will mail a replacement cartridge free of charge. Call 1-800-4KOHLER (1-800-456-4537) with the model number, finish, and where and when you bought it. Readers routinely report Kohler shipping the valve without asking for a receipt, but the written warranty does require proof of purchase, so have it if you can.
