Water showing up around the cap or under the handle, rather than from the spout, has a different cause on each Delta valve.

| Valve | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Ball type | Loose adjusting ring or worn cam and packing | Tighten the adjusting ring clockwise. If it still leaks, rebuild with RP3614. |
| DIAMOND Seal | Bonnet nut not tight, then a worn cartridge | Remove the handle and cap and tighten the bonnet nut with a wrench. If it still leaks, replace the cartridge. |
| Two handle | Bonnet nut loose or stem seals worn | Tighten the bonnet; then replace the stem. |
| Spout base (swivel spouts) | Spout O-rings | Lift the spout and replace the O-rings (RP25, included in RP3614; RP44124 for Foundations). |
